The Department of Environmental Management has finalized a change to the operating hours and days at County of Hawai`i Solid Waste Recycling and Transfer Stations (also known as (a.k.a.) convenience centers or transfer stations) beginning December 1, 2009. For a detailed listing of the changes please check the Media Release or the Flyer links to the left.
This change will impact the operating hours for associated onsite Recycling Centers, Reuse Centers and HI-5 Redemption Centers. Please check with your HI-5 Redemption Centers and Reuse Centers for any changes in their hours of operations, the scheduled days of operations should not be affected. Or you can visit our website, www.hawaiizerowaste.org, for updated information on HI-5 Redemption Center or Reuse Center hours of operation when they become availabe. The change is part of the Department’s plan to increase oversight, reduce operating costs, and further the County’s progress toward Zero Waste by improving facility operations and expanding services at all County Solid Waste management facilities.
