Q: I am able to access the TMK maps via Windows Internet Explorer, but I cannot zoom or print or copy. Are there specific instructions for use with Internet Explorer?
A: Some programs like Windows Internet Explorer do not have options for zooming. Please download/save the files to your pc first. If you are using Windows XP, open the files in your "picture and fax viewer". If you are using Windows 98, open the files in your "imaging" program. Both these programs come standard with your windows operating system and have options for zooming and printing.
Q: When I click on a file the image opens in my Windows Internet Explorer. How do I download/save it?
A: Right click the selected file and click the "save target as" option. Select a folder to save the file to. Click "save".
Q: When the Plats have two sheets, I can't find the second sheet. Could you tell me how I can find the second sheet?
A: TMK maps with multiple sheets are saved in tiff files that have multiple pages. Please verify if the software program you are using supports multi-page tiff images. Both Windows XP "picture and fax viewer" and Windows 98 "imaging" program support multi-page tiff images. To view the second page, click the "next page" arrow.
Q: Where can we get a full size print of our Tax Map?
A: Full size Tax Maps can be ordered through the County of Hawaii Planning Department. Order forms are available at our offices in Hilo and Kona or may be downloaded from the following website address: http://co.hawaii.hi.us/forms/planforms.html. Please send completed form along with payment to the address listed on the order form. Your maps will be mailed to you within 10 working days after receiving the order.
